Presley is far too young for our senior rescue, but when we saw her cat and dog tests from the crowded southern shelter, it seemed ridiculous to pass up on her just because of her age. Presley is as perfect as they come, needing just a little time to warm up to new people and new dogs before being everyone's best friend (no warm up time needed for cats, she just loves them immediately.) After playing hard to get with her new dog friends, Presley wants nothing more than to run and wrestle and gently chomp anyone who is up for it. We definitely recommend a canine friend either in her forever home, at a neighbor's house, or in a daycare facility as she really does want to play with other dogs as well as humans. She is phenomenal with cats, almost to a fault as she also sees them as friends who need to be cleaned. She and Link, our big blind cat, are great friends who stalk and gently wrestle one another. Presley was not house trained when she first came to us, but made fast progress and is now a champ at pottying outside. She has run of the house when no one is home, so you can see how much we trust her (with the trashcan lid secured and nothing on the countertops!) Presley is not super vocal but since she is an active hound dog she will need a fenced yard to be happiest. She is incredibly affectionate, snuggly, goofy, tolerant... she is going to be someone's best dog ever! Don't let this absolute gem get away- if you're looking to adopt, stop looking!
